About Woodstock Vitamins Woodstock Vitamins is a pharmacist-led supplement company focused on evidence-based, simplified wellness. Our goal is a fast, modern ecommerce experience that supports subscriptions, bundles, and long-term customer relationships — without unnecessary complexity or plugin bloat. We’re looking for a senior WooCommerce developer who builds clean, efficient solutions and improves both performance and conversion. What We Need You To Build / Improve 1) Subscription Experience • Implement or optimize Subscribe & Save • Flexible subscription logic (frequency options, discounts, customer management) • Clean customer UX (no friction, no confusion) • Integration with existing checkout and customer accounts 2) Bundles & Offers • Bundle products with: • Tiered discounts • “Build your routine” style offers • Conditional pricing where appropriate • Ensure bundles work cleanly with subscriptions where possible 3) Modern Cart Experience • Implement a flyout / drawer cart • Add: • In-cart upsells / cross-sells • Subscription prompts • Free shipping or threshold messaging • Must be fast, mobile-optimized, and not rely on heavy JS frameworks unless justified 4) Site Performance Optimization • Improve Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, TTI) • Reduce page weight and unnecessary scripts • Optimize: • WooCommerce queries • Asset loading • Checkout speed • Identify and fix performance bottlenecks 5) Plugin Stack Reduction • Audit current plugins • Remove redundancy and overlap • Replace heavy plugins with: • Lightweight alternatives • Custom code where appropriate • Goal: minimum necessary stack What Success Looks Like Within the first 30 days: • Faster site load times (measurable improvement) • Reduced plugin count • Fully functional subscription + bundle system • Flyout cart live and conversion-ready • Clear documentation of architecture and decisions Requirements Must Have • Recent, deep experience with WooCommerce architecture • Strong PHP (WordPress/WooCommerce core-level understanding) • JavaScript experience for front-end cart interactions • Experience with: • WooCommerce Subscriptions (or equivalent systems) • Product Bundles / Composite Products • Performance optimization • Ability to customize themes/plugins without breaking update paths Bonus • Experience with supplement or subscription ecommerce • CRO mindset (AOV, LTV, retention) • Experience reducing plugin stacks • Experience with flyout cart implementations How We Evaluate Developers To apply, please include: • Links to 2–3 WooCommerce sites you built or optimized most recently • For each project, briefly describe: • What performance or conversion problem you solved • What you removed or simplified • Measurable results (speed, AOV, conversion, plugin reduction) • Your typical approach to reducing plugin bloat • Your availability and hourly/project rate We are looking for someone who: • Works efficiently • Communicates clearly • Identifies problems early • Recommends simpler solutions instead of adding complexity Engagement Structure • Initial paid audit (performance + plugin + architecture) • Followed by implementation phases based on priorities • Ongoing support possible for the right fit What This Role Is Not • Not a “plugin installer” • Not a theme-only customizer • Not an agency handoff to junior developers We’re looking for a senior WooCommerce engineer who can own outcomes.
