College Intern Role – Human Resources (Assistant Board Member)
⚠️ This is an unpaid internship.
As a Human Resources College Intern with The B.R.A.V.E. Project™, you will:
- Serve as an Assistant Board Member
- Appear on our official Board of Directors webpage in this capacity
- Receive hands-on nonprofit governance and operations exposure
- Gain executive-level mentorship within Human Resources and workforce systems development
To be considered for this role, you must provide:
- Proof of active enrollment in an accredited college or university
- An unofficial transcript
- A valid university-issued email address
- A university reference (teacher or professor)
This ensures the integrity of our mentorship pipeline and confirms active student status.
Human Resources Intern – Focus Area
We are currently seeking a self-starter who can build, refine, and strengthen our internal HR systems. The ideal candidate is:
- Proactive
- Detail-oriented
- Organized
- Comfortable creating structure where systems are evolving
Primary focus areas include:
- Building and refining our Volunteer & Intern Intake Process
- Developing and improving our Exit Interview and Offboarding Process
- Creating structured onboarding workflows
- Reviewing and organizing HR documentation
- Strengthening compliance tracking systems
- Collaborating with our AI/Digital Officer to create onboarding and training videos
If your major or minor is in:
- Human Resources
- Organizational Leadership
- Business Administration
- Public Administration
- Psychology
- Or a related field

College Majors & Minors — APPLY TODAY
The B.R.A.V.E. Project™ intentionally aligns interns with Board Officers in their field of study to provide hands-on, real-world executive mentorship.
Human Resources Majors or Minors will:
- Be assigned to our Human Resources Officer
- Participate in direct operational HR development
- Help design and implement workforce systems
You will gain hands-on experience learning:
- Volunteer onboarding system design
- Intake documentation development
- Exit interview design and implementation
- Policy documentation refinement
- Workforce compliance tracking
- Talent engagement and retention strategies
- Organizational workflow development
- HR documentation audits
- Digital training video development in collaboration with our AI/Digital Officer
This is direct operational exposure — not observation. You will actively build and refine HR systems for a functioning nonprofit organization.
Position Summary
The BRAVE Human Resources College Intern – Assistant Board Member will:
- Strengthen and professionalize workforce systems
- Focus on intake, onboarding, documentation, and offboarding
- Assist with digital training system development
- Support HR governance infrastructure
This position is designed to provide:

Key Responsibilities
Board Member Support
- Assist the Human Resources Officer with projects and system development
- Support workforce coordination initiatives
Intake & Onboarding Development
- Build structured intake forms
- Develop onboarding checklists
- Create documentation systems
- Improve workflow processes
Exit Process Development
- Design a standardized exit interview process
- Implement structured offboarding procedures
- Analyze feedback for continuous improvement
Training Development
- Collaborate with the AI/Digital Officer
- Script onboarding videos
- Develop structured training modules
- Assist with digital content production
Documentation & Compliance
- Organize and maintain HR records
- Assist with compliance tracking
- Support policy refinement
Collaboration
- Work closely with Board members and interns
- Support cross-functional workforce initiatives
Qualifications
- Active enrollment in an accredited college or university required
- Major or minor in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Leadership, or related field
- Self-starter with strong initiative
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently AND as part of a team
- Commitment to the mission and values of The B.R.A.V.E. Project™
Term and Compensation
- This position is voluntary and unpaid
- The Human Resources College Intern / Assistant Board Member serves a renewable term
- May be eligible for reimbursement of approved volunteer-related expenses
