- Serve as a member of clients' executive management teams
- Develop and implement strategic financial plans aligned with professional services business objectives
- Lead high-level financial decisions and strategic initiatives
- Provide financial coaching to client leadership teams
- Support internal delivery teams with technical expertise and industry-specific guidance
- Create sophisticated financial models to evaluate business decisions, including service expansion, technology investments, and office expansions
- Develop long-range cash forecasts and capital planning specifically addressing cyclical nature of professional services
- Analyze business performance and identify optimization opportunities for service delivery efficiency and client profitability
- Design and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to the needs of the client’s business operations
- Prepare annual operating plans with variance analysis
- Oversee and optimize engagement costing systems
- Implement effective resource allocation and utilization processes
- Design accounting structures that provide actionable insights
- Develop pricing models that ensure profitability while remaining competitive
- Lead month-end closing meetings with clients and internal teams to present financials
- Oversee preparation and review of monthly financial statements and key reports
- Serve as proactive liaison with client's professional advisors (CPAs, bankers, attorneys)
- Requirements:
- 10+ years of financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years specifically in professional services industries
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Proven success in executive-level financial advisory roles for professional services companies
- Demonstrated ability to drive strategic growth initiatives
- Have a love of entrepreneurial, growth-minded small businesses
- Experience managing multiple client relationships, preferred
- Strong mentoring and team development abilities
- Strong technical accounting and finance expertise, including, resource utilization, and technology investment planning
