AECOM is a global leader in infrastructure consulting, dedicated to delivering a better world. The Environmental Engineer I role involves conducting engineering design and creating necessary documentation under supervision, while working on projects that address key environmental challenges.
Responsibilities
- Builds analytic and design skills
- Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer
- Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer
- Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer
- Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems
- Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision
Skills
- BA/BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering + 0 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review
- As a condition of employment, candidates must pass a drug screening
- 1+ year of relevant experience in site investigations and remediation
- Experience with CERCLA and RCRA remediation programs at complex sites
- Working toward sitting for Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam
- General civil engineering experience
- Strong technical report writing skills and the ability to develop design specifications
- Knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D/GIS
- Willingness to travel, complete field work, and work extended hours, when necessary
- Knowledge of Mid-Atlantic States environmental regulations and setting OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification
