Job Description
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Procare HR is dedicated to transforming workforce outcomes for care providers through specialized HR services. The Leave of Absence Specialist will administer employee leave requests, ensuring compliance and timely management of various leave types, while serving as the primary contact for employees regarding their leave inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Administering employee leave requests within a PEO environment
- Ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant handling of all leave types
- Managing cases under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Personal Leave of Absence (PLOA), state-paid leave programs, Short-term Disability (STD), and Long-Term Disability (LTD)
- Serving as the first point of contact for employees and applicants, initiating outreach within 24-48 hours of receiving a request
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in HR, benefits, leave administration, or a related employee support function
- Basic knowledge of federal and state leave laws (FMLA, ADA/ADAAA, state-paid leave programs, STD/LTD)
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain leave processes clearly and empathetically to employees and clients
- High attention to detail and organizational skills, with ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with HRIS, case management, or CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity, professionalism and discretion
- PEO or multi-state experience preferred
- UKG Ready or similar preferred
