We are seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our team in Birmingham, AL. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, resolving complex issues, and ensuring a seamless patient experience. You will be the primary point of contact for patients, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders, and you will be responsible for resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.

  • *Key Responsibilities**
  • Answer inbound customer service calls and execute outbound follow-up calls in a professional, patient experience, and customer service-oriented manner.
  • Answer calls timely without drops/abandons.
  • Ascertain the reason for the call and assist the caller with their questions, concerns, or problems with a focus on first call resolution.
  • Facilitate resolution by referring the matter to the issue/content expert.
  • Escalate the matter to a supervisor, request the appropriate information, or take appropriate action so that the issue expert can effectively resolve the matter.
  • Resubmit Corrected Claims and supporting documentation as needed for the patient experience.
  • Communicate issues to management timely and perform other duties as assigned by direct supervisors.
  • Perform a variety of duties often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
  • *Requirements**
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 0-2 years of prior relevant experience
  • Advanced computer skills, knowledge of medical terminology, PC applications, and math/bookkeeping skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • *Preferred Qualifications**
  • 1-3 years related or general knowledge of payor-specific or medical specialty billing
  • Dialer experience within a call center type environment
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
