3D Character Modeler We have open positions for 3D Character Modelers. As a 3D Character Modeler, you will be responsible for creating our characters and creatures. Breathing life into our concept art and orthographic views for animation in Unreal Engine. Your Mission As a talented character artist for our video game universe, you bring our character concepts to life, based on their backstories and previous levels of development. This is a remote position; you will need a PC workstation. You will need your own software, workspace, and toolset.
Responsibilities You’re an expert at blending shape design, silhouette form, function, color, saturation, visual effects, lighting, and structure. You have an exceptional understanding of human and creature anatomy and you know how to simplify and stylize photoreal versions of them to create compelling and memorable characters who express powerful emotions. You will have a deep passion for games, love movies, and great stories, and understand how to take our art to the next level. Key Duties Create a variety of performant models, mixing high-resolution details on lower poly models including props and environments from scratch.
Demonstrate versatility in your ability to create a wide range of models from hard-surfaced game gear to characterized organic shapes. Demonstrate artistic strategic thinking in various modeling approaches to apply tools effectively and creatively. Traits Willingness to take direction/feedback. Extensive knowledge of character design. You will be a self-starter who gets the job done. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Organic sculpting skill set Creating UV maps for textures. Creature development experience Texturing models, and setting materials.
Interpret concept art to create virtual characters Good people skills; team player and a high level of professionalism. Eagerness to learn and willingness to hone technical and creative skills. Demonstrate adaptability to new methods, techniques, and tools, as well as adaptability to the production pipeline/environment. Software Targets Adobe Photoshop Maya Blender ZBrush 3D graphic software Substance (Painter/Designer) MS Office Qualifications No degree, certificate, or diploma is required 3 to 5 years of industry experience is preferred A comprehensive reel demonstrating photo real capabilities Bonus Skills 2D / 3D concept skills Experience in visual effects creation Rigging Experience - Creation of model skeletons for animation About the Position You embody a love and passion for working in entertainment that is truly good for gamers.
You work remotely. You track your own time. You will begin part-time. After a 3-month trial period, you may go full-time, continually paid up to 40-to-50 hours a week at any time as proven and required at the company’s discretion.
