Job Overview
The
Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large, complex data sets to meet both non-functional and functional business requirements. This role involves leading and providing expertise to functional project teams, participating in cross-functional initiatives, and guiding process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities Collect, analyze, and interpret large, complex data sets to meet business requirements. Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, including re-architecting infrastructure for greater scalability, improving data delivery, and automating manual processes. Build required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various data sources using AWS and SQL technologies. Develop analytical tools to leverage the data pipeline, providing valuable insights into key business performance metrics, including operational efficiency and customer acquisition.
Collaborate with stakeholders, including data, design, product, and executive teams, to support their data-related technical needs and resolve issues. Create or modify hardware and technology to serve customer needs. Perform other work duties as directed by supervisors. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, candidates should have: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, information technology, or engineering. Strong knowledge of engineering principles and technologies, including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
Experience with design processes, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Skilled in identifying complex problems and assessing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Ability to recognize when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong, and to take appropriate action.
Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
Advanced degree in a relevant field, such as a Master's or Ph.D. Experience working with remote teams and collaborating with stakeholders across different time zones. Knowledge of cloud-based technologies, such as AWS, and experience with SQL and data analytics tools. Strong understanding of data engineering principles, including data warehousing, ETL, and data governance. Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git.
