As a Media Systems Administrator at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in providing technical support and services for our media and audio-visual (A/V) systems, ensuring that our studio runs smoothly and efficiently.
Job Overview
The Media Systems Administrator will be responsible for providing technical support and services for all media and A/V systems in the studio, including equipment installation, testing, and configuration, as well as client training and collaboration with other technology groups. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in media technology and A/V systems, with experience working with a range of technologies, including projectors, large displays, video conferencing, sound DSP systems, and control systems like Q-Sys and Crestron.
Key Responsibilities Provide technical support and services for all media and A/V systems in the studio, including gathering rooms, "Dailies"/digital review rooms, A/V trucks, and more Aid in the design of media and A/V systems and spaces Collaborate closely with the Media teams at the Burbank and Vancouver studio locations to maintain a consistent artist experience across studio locations Assist other support staff by providing Help Desk/Service Center style support as needed, monitoring inbound technical support requests, calls, and tickets for all studio employees Handle support issues from start to resolution Work with other technology groups on a case-by-case basis Install and support a wide range of software, both internally developed and third-party Support various hardware and operating system build processes, including Mac, Linux, iOS, and Windows, as well as related software and accessories Provide basic support for some server and network equipment on a case-by-case basis Work with studio management to continually improve technical support systems and procedures Help define how end-user support should be organized, delivered, standardized, and communicated Create thorough documentation of processes and procedures Maintain a flexible schedule, including possible evening or weekend work Essential Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience with media and A/V technology, related technical/client support, ideally in a production setting Strong experience with A/V technology and trends, including familiarity with A/V equipment like professional projectors, sound/video routing hardware, mixers, speakers, large displays, and more Proficiency with common video conferencing platforms, such as Zoom, bolthires Talk, and MS Teams, as well as hardware platforms like Cisco and Poly Working knowledge of Mac OS, iOS, and Windows operating systems, with experience with Linux desktop Familiarity with remote desktop technologies, such as HP Anywhere (Teradici) and HP
Remote Graphics Software (RGS) Experience with ticket tracking, technical support tools, documentation platforms, and diagnostic systems Proficiency with productivity applications like OpenOffice, bolthires Office, bolthires Workspace Ability to diagnose, repair, or replace computer system components (storage media/drives, graphics/GPU cards, memory modules, fans, etc.) Strong analytical problem-solving skills Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong customer service orientation Highly self-motivated, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple simultaneous and competing challenges Ability to lift heavy equipment, install, configure, and maintain desktop/computers and mobile devices Preferred Qualifications Experience designing and building complex A/V systems, wire management, and more Experience programming control systems, such as Q-Sys, Crestron, or AMX Experience with professional secure streaming platforms like Sohonet or Evercast Strong knowledge of computer hardware and components, A+ or equivalent systems administration certification Practical experience with Linux administration Strong Mac/Windows system administration skills Experience with/preference for scripting/coding Experience with CG Animation, VFX, or video game production environments and common pipelines Education and Training A BS or BA degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Broadcast Arts, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience, is required for this role.

The hiring range for this position in California is $85,300 - $114,400 per year, based on a 40-hour workweek. The actual salary offered will depend on a range of factors, including internal equity, geographic location, work-related experience, skills, and education.
