Career Trial Attorney to represent insureds and the company in various legal proceedings. The role involves managing insurance defense litigation, preparing case materials, conducting legal research, and engaging in professional development to enhance litigation skills. Responsibilities Manage all phases of insurance defense litigation from case inception through verdict, including case assessment, discovery, depositions, motion practice, pre-trial negotiations, courtroom advocacy, and post-trial motions to achieve favorable outcomes Organize and prepare case materials, including documents, evidence, and legal research for hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions Conduct thorough legal research on applicable laws, regulations, and case precedents; prepare concise summaries and reports Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and related filings Interview clients and witnesses, prepare detailed summaries of statements, and maintain accurate communication records Attend court hearings, depositions, and other proceedings to represent your client and the company Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and advise the legal team on potential impacts to ongoing cases Engage in professional development, including training sessions and mentorship programs, to build litigation skills and gain exposure to complex legal work Skills Juris Doctor (JD) degree and current Nevada bar license, in good standing Successful completion of coursework in legal research, writing, and analysis, demonstrating ability to draft clear, well-structured legal documents Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment Organizational proficiency, including managing case files, legal documents, and understanding the discovery process Effective communication skills for client interactions, preparing summaries, and maintaining accurate records Knowledge of legal ethics and adherence to professional standards of conduct Basic negotiation skills for client interactions and settlement discussions Must reside within commutable distance to courthouses in Clark County, Nevada, and must be willing to travel, occasionally, throughout the state of Nevada Benefits Exceptional Work-Life Balance: At Allstate, we understand the importance of achieving harmony between work and personal life.
