The Northern Middlesex Council of Governments (NMCOG) is a mission-driven regional planning agency serving nine Greater Lowell communities. They are seeking a Transportation Planner and a Regional Planner to support various planning initiatives and projects. Responsibilities
The Transportation Planner supports NMCOG’s transportation planning work and the Northern Middlesex Metropolitan Planning Organization (NMMPO)
This position focuses on transportation planning, data analysis, regional coordination, and advancing projects related to safety, active transportation, transit, and roadway improvements
The Regional Planner works directly with municipalities on a wide range of local and regional planning initiatives, including housing, land use, transportation, sustainability, and economic development
This role involves research and data analysis, drafting plans and policies, supporting community engagement, and helping translate community goals into actionable strategies Skills Experience in transportation planning, data analysis, regional coordination, and advancing projects related to safety, active transportation, transit, and roadway improvements Experience in local and regional planning initiatives, including housing, land use, transportation, sustainability, and economic development Ability to conduct research and data analysis Experience in drafting plans and policies Ability to support community engagement Ability to translate community goals into actionable strategies Benefits Excellent Massachusetts state employee benefits Company Overview
