JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting Audiology staff and Remote audiologists. The Clinical assistant is an important member of the hearing care team impacting patient outcomes, office efficiency, and the ENT physicians ability to administer hearing healthcare. This position can be the starting point in a career path for someone who is excited about hearing care and eager to learn and grow.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports directly to the Audiology & Speech Manager.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Supervised by Audiology Manager and Audiologists

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: May require prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching, requires eye hand coordination, and manual dexterity associated with a normal office environment. Occasional stress related to workload and customer problems.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal medical office environment which includes possible exposure to communicable diseases. Occasional evening or weekend work might be required.

    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Participate in the morning huddle with the MaestroAuDā„¢ audiologist, including a biological test of the equipment
  • Escort the patient to the testing area
  • Place headphones, insert earphones, or bone oscillator appropriately
  • Collaborate with the audiologist to set expectations and ease patient concerns
  • Operate and troubleshoot MaestroFusionā„¢ diagnostic equipment under the direction of the audiologist
  • Follow real-time prompts from the audiologist to ensure accurate testing
  • Monitor patient engagement and comfort during the session
  • Clean and reset equipment and room between appointments
  • Wear a headset and maintain a professional, calm presence on camera
  • Communicate clearly and confidently via video with the MaestroAuDā„¢ audiologist
  • Remain composed and solution-focused if technical issues arise
  • Manage the smooth handoff between providers as appropriate
  • Document any issues or patient concerns during testing
  • Coordinate closely with both the onsite ENT team and the MaestroAuDā„¢ audiologist
  • Continue fulfilling standard clinical duties within the ENT workflow

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Ā· Work experience in a clinical setting is desirable, Medical Assistant or other clinical

Ā· Customer service experience in a service industry desirable

Ā· Audiology Assistant training through ASHA or other organization (available to be provided for on the job training with RCENTA also)
