Job Description
The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) is responsible for collecting revenue that supports essential public services in California. The Business Taxes Administrator I will manage compliance and administrative functions, promote compliance, deter fraud, and lead investigations to ensure adherence to tax programs administered by CDTFA. Responsibilities Manage and control vital day-to-day operational functions to promote compliance, deter fraud/tax evasion, and enhance compliance for all programs administered by CDTFA Direct team members to conduct investigations, identify non-compliant entities, review, research, and act upon leads Visit businesses, analyze cases, and evaluate books and records and financial documents Integrate and apply practices, policies, and procedures across both compliance and audit functions Work with external teams to keep work coordinated, managed, and productive Motivate, train, and develop team members and monitor employee performance Travel up to fifty percent (50%) of the time, including overnight travel Skills
