Expert DOE/NYSERDA Grant Writer for Shovel-Ready Hydropower (DD & Permits Done) - Base + Success Fee

🌍 Remote, USA 🎯 Full-time πŸ• Posted Recently

Job Description

Project Overview:

LinkPast Solutions is an energy development firm seeking an expert technical grant writer with a documented track record of securing funding from the Department of Energy (DOE), NYSERDA, and/or USDA REAP.

We are developing two run-of-river hydroelectric facilities on the Black River in New York State. Combined, these plants are projected to generate 64,500 MWh of reliable, 24/7 baseload power annually to the NYISO grid.

Our Strategic Advantage (Why this project is shovel-ready):

Unlike many early-stage energy projects, we are not starting from scratch. We already hold the preliminary FERC permits for both sites. Furthermore, the vast majority of our Due Diligence (DD)β€”including previous environmental studies, civil engineering layouts, and site dataβ€”is already completed.

You will not need to hunt for baseline data; your role will be to synthesize our existing DD into winning proposals for the current administration's infrastructure and baseload-power initiatives, as well as New York State's clean energy mandates.

Scope of Work (90-Day Sprint):

Strategy: Review our existing DD and identify the 2 to 3 highest-probability grant solicitations currently open (e.g., DOE WPTO, TEAMER, Phase I SBIR, NYSERDA FlexTech, or USDA REAP).

Narrative Development: Craft highly technical, compelling grant narratives that align with federal goals ("baseload power," "grid reliability") and NY State goals ("Tier 1 RECs," "decarbonization").

Execution: Manage the submission process to secure non-dilutive funding for our FERC Pre-Application Document (PAD) soft costs and subsequent construction capital.

Required Experience:

Documented past performance winning grants from the DOE (EERE or WPTO) and/or NYSERDA.

Strong understanding of baseload energy infrastructure and financial modeling/pro-formas.

Ability to translate engineering DD into government-compliant narratives.

Compensation Structure:

We are offering a hybrid fee structure. We have allocated a fixed upfront budget (up to $4,000) to cover your time and application preparation, plus a negotiated contingency/success fee (percentage of the grant) payable upon award.

To Apply:

Please include 1–2 examples of previous energy/infrastructure grants you have successfully secured, the agencies they were submitted to, and a brief acknowledgment of our hybrid fee structure.
