About the Program (IHT 2.0)
This role supports VHA initiatives under IHT 2.0. Work is task-order driven; start date and workload depend on task order award and customer need.
Role Summary
Lead executive communications, content operations, and knowledge management for health IT and informatics initiatives. This is a technical communications role in a healthcare setting (not a generic PR role).
Core Responsibilities
- Produce executive briefings, one-pagers, FAQs, SOPs, newsletters, slide content, and stakeholder updates
- Translate technical/operational/workflow content into clear communication products
- Establish content governance, knowledge repositories, and publishing processes
- Support release communications, change communications, adoption messaging, and leadership readouts
- Drive version control, editorial quality, and message consistency
Must-Haves
- 8+ years in technical writing, communications, content operations, or knowledge management
- 3–5+ years in healthcare, health IT, clinical operations, or informatics
- Ability to write for both executive and operational audiences
- Strong editing discipline and ability to translate technical material into plain language
- Experience using collaboration platforms (SharePoint/M365 content environments)
Preferred
- Healthcare technical writing background
- Change communications or system adoption experience
- AP-style editing and/or Prosci/KM training
