Position Title: Insurity Technical Architect
Department: IT / Insurance Technology
Reports To: Head of Global Insurance
Location: Chicago preferred, open to fully remote
Employment Type: 6 month contract
Position Summary
The Insurity Technical Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-scale insurance technology solutions built on Insurity’s policy, billing, and claims platforms (such as Policy Decisions, Billing Decisions, or Sure). This role provides architectural guidance, technical leadership, and solution governance across the full software development lifecycle. The architect works closely with business stakeholders, engineering teams, and vendor partners to deliver scalable, secure, and high‑performing solutions that meet organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Solution Architecture & Design
- Develop end‑to‑end solution architectures leveraging Insurity products, APIs, data models, and integration frameworks.
- Translate business requirements into functional and technical solution designs.
- Establish architectural standards, patterns, and best practices for Insurity-based implementations.
- Evaluate platform capabilities and recommend system enhancements, extensions, or integrations.
- Project Leadership & Delivery
- Serve as the technical lead for Insurity-related initiatives, guiding developers, analysts, and QA teams.
- Review solution designs, configuration, and custom code for technical accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with Insurity’s product teams and support resources as needed throughout delivery.
- Ensure solution quality through design reviews, technical oversight, and risk management.
- Integration & Data Architecture
- Design and manage integrations between Insurity platforms and enterprise systems (e.g., CRM, data warehouse, claims systems).
- Define data mappings, transformation logic, and integration patterns using APIs, ETL, or middleware tools.
- Support data migrations, conversion planning, and validation activities.
- Platform Configuration & Optimization
- Guide configuration of Insurity core modules products, rating, workflows, rules, and user interface components.
- Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of the Insurity application ecosystem.
- Troubleshoot production and pre‑production issues, providing root cause analysis and remediation steps.
- Security, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure solutions comply with enterprise security, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.
- Define and enforce governance around environments, releases, and change management.
- Maintain architectural documentation and contribute to enterprise technology roadmaps.
- Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience working with Insurity platforms (Policy Decisions, Billing Decisions, Claims Decisions, Sure, etc.).
- Strong understanding of P&C insurance processes, especially underwriting, policy admin, billing, and claims.
- Hands‑on experience with:
- XML, JSON, web services (REST/SOAP)
- SQL and database modeling
- Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS preferred)
- API gateways, ETL tools, or integration middleware
- Proven experience in software architecture, system integration, and solution design.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts to business users.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in enterprise cloud migrations involving Insurity products.
- Knowledge of rating engines, product configuration, and workflow automation.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe).
- Certification in cloud architecture (Azure/AWS) preferred.
- Previous experience mentoring technical teams.
