About the position
The IT Manager - Store Systems leads a team in the planning, development, modification, and support of integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions as relates to Store Systems. These systems consist of Point-of-Sale, payments and back-office systems. As a manager of the software engineering team, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging, or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications.
Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture. This is a leader of people who clears obstacles for his/her team while empowering and enabling others to solve complex technical and business problems. To be successful, the individual in this role must bring a strong combination of business and technical acumen and be able to provide solutions that balance the unique needs of both the business and Technology. Responsibilities • Leads solution development projects which support the organization's objectives and plans.
• Ensures that management is both aware of each initiative and is able to provide the required resources. • Reviews the progress of development projects, ensuring that projects are carried out in accordance with agreed standards. • Facilitates open communication and discussion between stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact. • Negotiates with stakeholders at senior levels and ensures that organizational policy and strategies are adhered to. • Leads the application of appropriate quality management techniques to identify areas for improvement.
• Implements resource plans, including conducting recruitment interviews. • Supervises individuals by allocating routine tasks and/or project work. • Drives a holistic vision and strategy for Store Systems across the enterprise. • Controls project risks by analyzing and identifying trigger events, establishing response and contingency plans. • Responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, support, and scalability of robust, reliable, and secure Store Systems software solutions. • Maintains 24/7 availability to support production services.
• Ensures vendors are held to a high standard and manages these relationships. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or applicable work experience. • 5+ years of overall developmental experiences in Point of Sale, Payments and retail store systems. • Experience with Oracle Xstore, Verifone Fipay and RTS is a plus. • 2+ years of experience leading technical teams with or without formal direct report responsibility. • Knowledge of Payment Card Industry Data Security (PCI DSS) is a plus.
