Job Description

The George Washington University Institute for Data, Democracy and Politics (IDDP) seeks exceptional candidates for a full-time, academic research position at the rank of post-doctoral fellow. The postdoctoral associate will work on topics related to misinformation, persuasion, and political psychology, contributing to rigorous, evidence-based research that advances democratic values. Responsibilities Participate in the planning of independent research Analyze and interpret data Publish results Represent the university at conferences and meetings Develop new theories and methodologies Collaborate with affiliated researchers and faculty pursuing more narrowly specified projects Conceptualize, design and analyze behavioral social science research related to IDDP’s mission Perform other related duties as assigned Skills Applicants must have fulfilled all requirements for the award of a PhD or equivalent qualification in a relevant field by the date of employment Deep expertise in behavioral approaches to social science, including but not limited to the design and analysis of experiments Intimately familiar with sophisticated analytic tools and will have a demonstrated record of their use Extensive professional experience using R, Python or similar tools are a key requirement for the position Show potential to excel in tasks related to behavioral social science research Collaborate with affiliated researchers and faculty pursuing more narrowly specified projects in addition to the pursuit of individual project interests Conceptualize, design and analyze behavioral social science research related to IDDP's mission Performs other related duties as assigned.
