POSITION SUMMARY

The Revenue Integrity Consultant plays a critical role in advancing operational and financial performance for healthcare organizations through data-driven analysis, workflow evaluation, and system optimization.

This position serves as a trusted advisor to clients, leveraging deep knowledge of hospital and professional billing, charge capture, and reimbursement methodologies to identify revenue leakage and implement sustainable solutions. The senior consultant is responsible for conducting detailed assessments of charging and coding workflows, ensuring compliance with CMS and payer regulations, and partnering with Revenue Cycle, IT, and operational leaders to align system configuration with policy and process.

Success in this role requires strong analytical and communication skills, the ability to lead discussions across diverse stakeholder groups, and a proactive approach to problem-solving that delivers measurable client ROI. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: • Drive consistent, high-quality execution of client projects, ensuring deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with engagement objectives. • Translate audit findings and performance data into actionable improvement plans, ensuring operational changes are measurable and sustainable.

• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration by aligning expectations, coordinating communication, and proactively resolving issues between operational, technical, and leadership teams. • Apply structured project and change management practices to guide teams through process redesign, technology adoption, and workflow stabilization. • Serve as the primary point of contact for project execution, maintaining accountability, transparency, and timely escalation of risks or barriers. • Conduct advanced root-cause analysis to identify performance gaps, validate process assumptions, and recommend system or workflow refinements.

• Provide strategic consultation and subject-matter guidance to clients, integrating industry benchmarks and best practices to strengthen decision-making. • Develop and maintain dashboards, reporting tools, and other visual aids to monitor key performance metrics and communicate outcomes effectively. • Support leadership with concise project updates, executive summaries, and recommendations that demonstrate progress and quantifiable ROI. • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance internal methodologies, client engagement practices, and overall service delivery.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES) • At least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. • Comprehensive understanding of revenue integrity functions, including charge capture workflows, edit resolution, chargemaster maintenance, and regulatory compliance. • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to interpret data, identify trends, and develop actionable, evidence-based recommendations. • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively across technical, operational, and leadership audiences.

• A strong willingness to take initiative, work autonomously and manage time effectively to meet pressing deadlines. • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills. PREFERRED, NOT REQUIRED • Previous consulting experience is a valuable asset for an applicant to have. • Epic system experience, particularly with professional and hospital billing resolute. • Coding certifications – e.g. RHIT, RHIA, CPC, COC, or CCS. • Outstanding records of academic / professional achievement. • Strong record of leadership in an academic, professional, and/or extracurricular setting.

• Experience with conducting structured qualitative analysis / solving ambiguous problems. • Demonstrated experience making a positive impact in their work and communities. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
