We're actively seeking a talented Data Engineer to join our Pacific Life Team in Newport Beach, CA. We are looking for self-starters to help shape the future of data engineering and drive data-driven success. This role is hybrid remote at our state-of-the-art Newport Beach headquarters. Responsibilities β’ Partnering with data architects, analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions in an urgent and effective manner. β’ Implementing automated workflows to streamline data collection, processing, and analysis. β’ Monitoring data pipelines to detect and resolve issues promptly. β’ Reducing manual intervention to minimize errors and increase efficiency. β’ Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and agile methodologies. β’ Demonstrate adaptability, initiative and inquisitiveness in issues resolution. β’ Ensuring compliance with data governance policies and regulations. β’ Skills in analyzing data to identify trends, patterns, and insights. β’ Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for data extraction, transformation, and loading. Requirements β’ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science or Statistics. β’ 5+ years of experience in design, development, and data management. β’ 5+ years of experience and proficiency in SQL, ETL, data transformation, and data operations tools (Snowflake, Redshift, Informatica, Matillion, DBT, Python, Control-M). β’ 2+ years of experience with DevOps and CI/CD. β’ Effective communication & facilitation; both verbal and written. β’ Team-Oriented: Collaborating effectively with team and stakeholders. β’ Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with ability to breakdown complex data solutions. Nice-to-haves β’ 2+ years of experience in Snowflake and Data Build Tool (DBT), and cloud services. β’ Experience with automation, optimization and innovation in data management and batch cycle environments. β’ Understanding of data catalogs, glossary, data quality, and effective data governance. β’ Financial services domain knowledge. β’ Data driven individual with ability to setup effective processes in your sphere of ownership. β’ Strong communication with the ability to translate business requirements into technical specification.
