Job Description

We are developing an advanced hardware + sensor + automation system for real-time analysis of mud returns on oil & gas rigs. We are looking for a technical project manager with a mechanical or industrial engineering background to design and set up a complete project management system (Jira, Monday.com, or similar) that will be used to manage the full hardware development lifecycle. This role is not administrative — it requires strong engineering intuition and experience managing complex physical systems (mechanical assemblies, sensors, electronics, manufacturing, testing, field deployment).

Scope of Work You will design and implement a structured project management environment that includes: 1. Project Structure & Board Design Define project hierarchy (systems → subsystems → components) Build Jira or Monday boards for: Mechanical design Electronics & sensors Enclosures & environmental protection Manufacturing & suppliers Assembly & integration Testing & validation Field deployment (rig environment) 2. Task & Workflow Definition Break down the SCA-Rig into engineering-level tasks Define: Epics, stories, tasks Dependencies and critical paths Engineering milestones (PDR, CDR, prototype, pilot) Create clear workflows (To-Do → In Progress → Review → Blocked → Done) 3.

Engineering-Focused Management Setup Define deliverables tied to: CAD readiness BOM freeze Supplier readiness Assembly & test readiness Set up: Version control logic Design review gates Risk & issue tracking (engineering risks, not just admin issues) 4. Documentation & Handover Provide: Clean board templates Naming conventions Short user guide on how the system should be used Ensure the system is scalable as the team grows Required Background Mandatory Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering degree Experience managing hardware development projects Strong experience with Jira, Monday.com, or similar tools Ability to think in systems, interfaces, and dependencies Highly Preferred Experience with: Industrial equipment Oil & gas, energy, mining, or heavy machinery Sensors, lab instruments, or automated systems Experience managing: Prototypes → pilot → field deployment Familiarity with manufacturing workflows and suppliers What We Are NOT Looking For General virtual assistants Pure software project managers with no hardware background Scrum masters with no understanding of physical systems Engagement Details Type: Short-term setup project (with potential long-term collaboration) Time Commitment: 20–40 hours total for initial setup Start: Immediate Budget: Open – based on experience Apply tot his job
