This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections.
Help us become more efficient through our use of data management tools and AI! Work with our team to deliver an Azure-focused assessment and recommended architecture for a scalable data platform, including data warehousing and ETL patterns, recommended Azure services, a phased migration roadmap, and guidance for clustering, predictive models, and AI-driven outreach. We are looking to build a more robust data platform for data analytics and machine learning. We are currently generating log data from a variety of interactions with our volunteers. We want to utilize this data to analyze engagement, build clustering models to segment our volunteers, build predictive models for targeted outreach, and use AI for personalized outreach. These logs are in a relational database and they are getting very large. In addition, we recognize that there are more efficient platforms for data warehousing. We don't have any expertise in this area in house. We have the capacity to implement a plan, but we'd like to get some advice and counseling on how best to proceed.
Our volunteers are our most valuable resource since they are the ones who deliver our program services. In order to scale, we need to make the most of our volunteer resources. Currently 90% of our flights are flown by only 15% of our volunteers, so we feel that many volunteers are being underutilized. A scalable analytics and ML platform will help Angel Flight West better understand and engage volunteers, enabling targeted outreach and personalized communications. Improved volunteer segmentation and prediction will increase retention and matching efficiency, resulting in more donated flights and better access to healthcare for our passengers.
Our team will provide access to current log schema and Azure environment, explain use cases and goals, and collaborate with the volunteer. Success looks like a recommended architecture, a prioritized implementation plan, and knowledge-transfer sessions so our staff can implement and maintain the solution.
Angel Flight West Inc. Mission: Angel Flight West delivers health and hope using donated flights to serve those with healthcare or other compelling human needs. In the air, Angel Flight West links volunteer pilots and commercial airlines with people whose non-emergency health needs require air transportation to access care. On the ground, volunteer drivers ferry passengers to and from their departure and destination airports.
