Job Description
WordPress + WooCommerce Developer for Fine Art Photography Website (Print Store + Galleries)
Project Type: One-time build
Budget: $1,000–$1,600
Timeline: 4–6 weeks
Location: Remote
About the Project
I’m a fine-art photographer building a professional website for De Polloc Photography. I need a developer/designer to create a WordPress + WooCommerce site that functions as both a digital art gallery and a print store.
The site should feel like a curated gallery experience — clean, minimal, image-focused, and high-end — not a generic template website.
I will be fulfilling prints manually through BayPhoto for now, but I want the store structured so it can integrate with OrderDesk in the future.
What You’ll Build
- WordPress website (Kadence or Blocksy preferred)
- Core pages:
o Home
o About
o Galleries (Landscape, Cityscape, Street)
o Store (WooCommerce)
o Blog
o Contact
o Print Info / FAQ
- High-performance photo galleries:
o Grid or masonry layout
o Lightbox
o Fast loading / optimized images
- WooCommerce print store:
o Variable products (sizes, paper types, framing options)
o Clean, premium product page layout
o Easy for me to duplicate and add new prints
o Seasonal products such as calendars
o Future products such as photography books, etc.
- Payment setup:
o Stripe + PayPal
- Email capture:
o MailerLite, FluentCRM, or similar
- SEO foundation:
o Rank Math or Yoast
o Basic metadata + sitemap
- Performance + security:
o WP Rocket (or equivalent)
o Image optimization
o Security plugin
- Launch support + basic training (Loom videos or short walkthrough)
Design Direction
This is important:
I want the site to feel like a fine art gallery, not a generic photography template.
- Minimal, elegant, modern
- Strong typography
- Large imagery
- Clean spacing
- Premium feel
- Not cluttered
Bonus if you have experience with:
- Photography portfolios
- Art-based e-commerce
- Gallery-style layouts
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Experience with print fulfillment workflows
- Familiarity with OrderDesk or similar tools
- Understanding of image sizing/aspect ratios for print
What I’m Looking For
- Strong communication (you can explain things simply)
- Someone who can guide me, not just follow instructions
- Clean design sense (this matters a lot)
- Experience with WooCommerce and gallery sites
- Organized workflow and realistic timelines
To Apply
Please include:
1. Portfolio (especially photography or WooCommerce sites)
2. A brief explanation of how you’d approach this build
3. Example of a product page or gallery site you’ve created
4. Estimated timeline
5. Project cost within the listed budget
Important
Please do not apply if you only build basic template sites.
I’m looking for someone who understands both design and functionality for a photography-based business.
