Job Overview
The Account Manager will be responsible for managing a assigned set of accounts, driving business growth, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires a highly motivated and results-driven individual with a strong understanding of the clinical trials industry, including Real-World Evidence (RWE) and Decentralized Clinical Trials (DCT). The successful candidate will have a proven track record of winning new clients, developing strategic relationships, and driving business growth through consultative sales activities.
Key Responsibilities Client record and relationship management, including developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing and new clients Accountable for achieving planned sales targets within assigned client accounts Client account development to drive new business opportunities across the verticals of RWE Clinical Trials, including patient enrollment, DCT, HEOR, and epidemiological studies Drive client account strategy and development through strategic and tactical account planning in partnership with the scientific research delivery teams Collaborate with sales operations, finance, and other internal support functions to drive and close business and achieve sales approval targets Proactively identify and qualify valuable opportunities, including defining solutions and recommending pricing structures to meet strategic objectives Act as the primary contact until project startup, then coordinate with relevant business areas to ensure successful execution Lead and assist with delivering the response to the proposal cycle with the proposal team and deliver in a timely style to clients Coordinate Bid Defense strategy, ensuring targeted bidding aligns with client goals Lead efforts to close a potential client for a clinical trial as part of the objective sales targets Accountable for assigned client account and identify potential opportunities within existing clients to increase account penetration Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as life sciences, business, or marketing Scientific, sales, or marketing background with a focus in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry Proven history of creating mid-and senior-level business contacts Excellent interpersonal skills to manage and fully integrate with Operations, Finance, and Marketing, and follow up to grow relationships and business opportunities A strong understanding of Clinical Trials, Decentralized Trials, and RWE trends Demonstrated expertise in identifying and developing potential customers, making professional presentations, handling the sales cycle through close, and negotiating contract transactions Understanding of sales automation systems and bolthires Office programs Experience collaborating with internal or external resources to develop strategies that meet department objectives within budget and established timelines Able to travel up to 25% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state) Preferred Qualifications Graduate degree or MBA Additional experience in sales, marketing, or a related field Strong knowledge of the clinical trials industry, including RWE and DCT Experience with sales automation systems and CRM software
