About MCF Staff Staff of the Minnesota Council on Foundations are in a special position to provide service and leadership to Minnesota’s vibrant philanthropic community. MCF programs and services are designed in response to member needs and community conditions, and when possible, in partnership with nonprofit community organizations and government partners. MCF work is guided by its 2022 Strategic Framework and carried out through the efforts of internal teams, and collaborations with members and partners. Job Description About the Role

The Member Engagement Manager is responsible for implementing the member renewal, recruitment, and retention process; utilizing data tools and analysis to inform the process; and serving as MCF’s team lead related to the organization’s Salesforce database.

Supervision and Leadership

The Member Engagement Manager works in close partnership with (and is supervised by) the Vice President of Member Services, to develop member engagement strategies and systems to track them. The Member Engagement Manager develops and manages databases to support routine communication with MCF members and key government and community partners. The Member Engagement Manager provides information and analysis to the President, staff colleagues, and the MCF board of directors, to inform budget development and to ensure timely and accurate financial practices.

Through the Salesforce database, in partnership with the Finance Manager, the Member Engagement Manager ensures accurate financial data related to membership dues, paid programming, sponsorships, grants, and other revenue that supports the organization. The Member Engagement Manager is the primary user of the organization’s relational database (Salesforce) and is responsible for setting expectations and providing training and support for other users on the MCF team. Key Responsibilities Engaging with Members • Design and implement the annual member renewal process.

• Collaborate with the Vice President of Member Services on new member recruitment strategies and goals. • Lead specific aspects of member outreach related to member recruitment and renewal. • Deliver timely, high-quality responses to member requests and inquiries. • Deliver timely acknowledgment of payments to members and sponsors. • Deliver quality member programs which may include facilitating meetings and network events, leading member orientations, and overseeing other programmatic endeavors. • Alongside the Member Services team, assess member benefits and experience; identify opportunities for improvement; and implement recommendations.

Managing Member Data and Tools • Maintain individual member data, organizational rosters, and data hygiene, to ensure accurate reporting and accounting of the member experience and member relationships within each of MCF’s databases, currently including the Salesforce CRM and Electric Embers listservs. • Serve as primary system administrator for Salesforce, managing the day-to-day basic administrative functions and configuration, support, maintenance, and improvement of the CRM platform. Serve as MCF’s liaison to United Philanthropy Forum for Salesforce related issues and upgrades; and oversee other external relationships related to Salesforce.

• Manage the listserv environment and perform data hygiene with Electric Embers assuring that all members are added to the appropriate peer email lists. • In collaboration with colleagues, maintain functionality and provide support for various Salesforce processes such as member event registrations, member payments, grantseeking, and tracking grants received. • Establish expectations and deliver education and support to MCF team to ensure that all members have sufficient mastery of CRM to ensure accurate, timely inputs reflecting all member engagements.

• Collaborate with the Finance Manager to ensure timely and accurate recording of member payments, conference fees and sponsorships, and lead the process of preparing and sending invoices related to member renewal. • Develop data reports and analysis to inform membership and program strategy. Organizational Responsibilities • Attain basic knowledge of field of philanthropy to ensure fluency in member interactions. • Engage in continuous learning to advance EBDI within MCF and throughout the field of philanthropy.

• Other duties as assigned, according to organizational need. Preferred Qualifications • Experience working in a nonprofit or philanthropic setting • Demonstrated professional communications and customer service skills • Demonstrated use of CRM tools, preferably with significant Salesforce experience • Excellent project management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple deadlines • Skilled problem solver and self-starter • Ability to work in a highly collaborative and team environment, as well as work autonomously on specific projects Work Location: In 2026, MCF staff are maintaining a hybrid work environment with a split between in-office and remote work.

Approximately 10 – 20% of this position will require in-person work. The MCF office is currently located in Saint Paul. MCF programs take place at the office and other locations in the Twin Cities and periodically in Greater Minnesota. Compensation: Total compensation offered for this full-time position (37.5 hours weekly) includes $70,000 - $80,000 starting salary; five weeks of Paid Time Off (six weeks after 4 years of service); 11 organization-wide holidays; two floating holidays; birthday off; medical, dental and vision insurance; six percent retirement contribution (no employee match required); up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave; wellness benefit; and more.
