The Accountant I is responsible for the timely processing of Workday documents for the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and the Division of Comparative Medicine and for monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing processes. Job Description Primary Duties &
Responsibilities: Responsible for the creation, data integrity, and/or department approval of various online documents (requisitions, purchase orders, travel documents, change orders, and invoices). Responsible for the timely processing of all Workday documents according to closing schedules.
Responds to various inquiries from departmental stakeholders, suppliers, and central processing areas. Resolves issues as they arise. Assist with administrative general accounting and system-related projects on an as-needed basis with direction from the supervisor. This may include organizing departmental contracts, including cell phones, beepers, copier and other services. Responsible for preparing various general ledger entries to facilitate monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing and for reconciling, reporting, and analyzing various general ledger accounts.
Assist with special projects such as the annual financial budgets. Perform other duties as assigned. Working Conditions: Job Location/Working Conditions Normal office environment. This position is eligible as fully remote or hybrid (in-office and remote working). Physical Effort Typically sitting at desk or table. Repetitive wrist, hand or finger movement. Ability to move to on and off-campus locations. Equipment Office equipment. Salary Range $23.37 - $36.19 / Hourly
