Role: We’re looking for an experienced Bookkeeper who thrives in a fast-paced and information-rich environment. This role goes beyond routine monthly work.
While you’ll have recurring bookkeeping clients, your day-to-day will also include new requests, shifting priorities, evolving tools, and occasional curveballs. You’ll need to be comfortable absorbing a lot of information quickly, switching context, and keeping things moving forward with clear communication. You’ll work independently, but not on an island. Success in this role depends on staying responsive, asking the right questions, keeping track of what you learn, and closing the loop when tasks are done.
If you like structure and variety and can keep multiple threads moving at once when you’re part of a team, you’ll fit right in. A short skills test will be required to move forward in the hiring process. What You’ll Do: • Keep client books organized and accurate in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Xero • Manage transaction coding and receipt organization using tools like Hubdoc or Keeper (now called Double) • Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts • Track transactions by class or property, as applicable • Create monthly adjusting journal entries for merchant accounts or payroll corrections • Calculate and file sales tax on behalf of clients • Contact app and software support (online or phone) to help troubleshoot issues when needed

This is not a role where you can check in once a day or wait to be prompted. Consistent communication and accountability are non-negotiable.
What We’re Looking For: • 2–3+ years of professional bookkeeping experience • High level of Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and/or Xero • Familiarity with Bookkeep, Gusto, and ADP preferred • Comfortable handling bank reconciliations, adjusting entries, payroll errors/corrections, and sales tax filings • Familiarity with G-Suite, Slack, and collaborative inboxes • Experience supporting end-of-year 1099 preparation (e.g., who receives a 1099 vs. who doesn’t, what types of payments qualify, etc.) • Strong attention to detail and confident written communication • U.S.-based with reliable internet and availability during 10 am to 3 pm EST.
